Shabby Lane Shop Smoky Mountain Retreat

We have returned home from the retreat and are already planning next year's retreat!  We had an incredible time!  We learned so much from all of our classes.  A huge Thank You to the class instructors.  Claudia of Antica Treasures,  Debbi of Marionberry Cottage, Bunny of B.Catherine Designs,  Barbara of SBS Teas, Carla of The Blue Heron Studio,   And all of our Fabulous Cooks!   Thank You Barbara of SBS Teas for the Wonderful Teas, Cocoa, Coffee, Scones, Tea Soaps , Cookies and Tea Door Prizes,  Thank you Jacalyn & Megan of RME Boutique for the wonderful soaps & Soft Soaps.  Thank you Annieg  of Annieg Aprons & Bags for the lovely business card holders & the Apron door prizes,  Thank you Lynn of  The Vintage Nest for the lovely nest goodies,  Thank You Karen of Avon for the Avon goodies.  Thank You Rita of Tesoro Fino for cooking the last meal of the retreat.

Thank you to my family for all the help! Thank you to my wonderful husband for helping me make this retreat possible!  Thank You to Chris my sister for helping me survive buying 3 grocery carts full of groceries in the busiest Wal-Mart I have ever seen!  Thanks to my 2 little boys, who are the reason Shabby Lane Shops is what it is!



We missed a few ladies that registered and were unable to attend due to illness & car troubles,  but we will see Georgia of Grandma G's,  Annieg of Annieg Aprons & Bags, Char of Someplace in Thyme & Janet of Graceful Rose next time!

Shabby Lane Shops Smoky Mountain Retreat

Well we are so excited the time is here!  Our 1st Annual Shabby Lane Shops Retreat is tomorrow!   We are looking forward to meeting so many of our wonderful shop owners, networking, shopping, learning, hiking, relaxing & having so much fun!

Key Lime Pie from Sweet Kathleen!

KEY LIME PIE

This pie would be a wonderful addition to your Easter buffet table. Key limes are smaller and sweeter than regular limes.

CRUST
2 c. graham cracker crumbs
2 T. granulated sugar
6 T. melted butter
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Filling
4 lg. egg yolks
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
2/3 c. freshly squeezed key lime juice
1 1/2 tsp. key lime zest

Garnish
Sweetened whipped cream
thin slices of key lime

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Stir all crust ingredients until combined. Press against the bottom and up the sides of a 9” pie plate. Bake for 7 minutes and remove to cool while preparing the filling.Beat egg yolks for approximately 2 minutes on high speed, until creamy. Add the sweetened condensed milk, juice, and zest. Blend until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Pour into prepared crust and bake for 12 minutes or until set. Cool completely on wire rack, then refrigerate. Freeze for 15-20 minutes before serving. Garnish with sweetened whipped cream and key lime slices.
